Is Microneedling painful?

Microneedling can be uncomfortable depending on the areas of treatment. To make the treatment comfortable a numbing cream will be applied prior to the procedure

How much downtime is needed?

The inflammatory reaction post procedure is extremely short. Patients can expect redness to fade within 12 to 48 hours.

Do patients need to be careful in the sun?

Yes! A physical SPF MINIMUM of 30 is recommended. A physical SPF sits on top of the skin rather than sinking into pores like a chemical SPF, making it more gentle for sensitive skin after Microneedling.

Can Microneedling be performed on any skin color?

Yes! Microneedling is safe for all skin types. Unlike laser treatments that trigger melanocytes (what causes hyperpigmentation) there is very little risk for post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation with Microneedling.

How many Microneedling treatments are needed and how often can procedures be repeated?

Based on the desired goal of each patient (what they are treating and how large the area) the number of treaments may very. Usually 3-6 treatments are recommended. Treatments can be performed every 4-6 weeks.

How long will it take to see results?

Most patient will see results within a few weeks of the first treatment. There are 3 phases that occur to the skin during Microneedling. During the final phase (stage 3) collagen III is replaced with collagen I (this takes 90 days), meaning you will see full results in 3 months.

Is Microneedling safe before botox and fillers?

Yes! Microneedling is safe to do even immediately before botox and fillers are injected.

Is Microneedling safe after botox and fillers?

Yes, but it is recommended to wait 2 weeks after botox and 4 weeks after dermal filler.
